![]() Explore. Build. Fight. Plot. Hegemonic is a game of galactic exploration, conquest, and intrigue for 2-6 players in under 2 hours. Players assume the role of different leaders in a futuristic society expanding their reach across the dark void of intergalactic space to stake their claim in a new galaxy. Will you exercise your power through industrial monopoly or solidify your empire by military force? Or will you win the hearts and minds of the galaxy using political means? How you establish control in the new galaxy will require careful planning and a well-timed execution as other players will strive to undermine you at every step in the race to achieve hegemony.
Basic Gameplay The game proceeds over a number of rounds until one of the game end condition is met. Each round consists of an exploration phase followed by an industrial, political, and martial phase. During each phase, players secretly select an action to perform - from building military bases or establishing embassies to deploying forces, secrete agents, or leveraging your political might. All players reveal their actions simultaneously and actions are then carried out in a defined order. Dual purpose "Resolution/Technology" cards are used to determine the outcome of conflicts through a bidding mechanic OR played as a permanent technology benefit for your empire. Players must decide carefully how and when to use these cards as there is always a tradeoff between saving high power cards for their resolution benefits or using them for their technological benefits. This dual purpose card mechanic ensures that all cards can serve a viable purpose in expanding your reign. The game ends, and scores are tallied, when one of the endgame conditions is met. The player able to extentd their influence the furthest across the galaxy establishes the new dominant hegemony.
